How to Participate
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
You must have 2FA enabled on your Epic Games account before the tournament. Go to your account settings at epicgames.com and enable it if you haven't already.
Find a Duos Partner
The Kizuna AI Cup is a Duos tournament, so you'll need a partner. Coordinate with a friend or find teammates in the Fortnite Discord or subreddit.
Check Your Region's Schedule
Tournament times vary by region. Check the in-game Compete tab for your specific start time. Most regions will have their cup on January 13 or 14, 2026.
Join the Tournament
On tournament day, open Fortnite, navigate to the Compete tab, and join the Kizuna AI Cup. You'll have a 3-hour window to play up to 10 matches.
Play Your Best
Focus on placement and strategic eliminations. You need to score enough points to reach the reward threshold. Estimated: 200-300 points for guaranteed rewards.
Scoring System
Points are awarded based on your placement in each match and the number of eliminations you achieve. Here's the breakdown:
| Achievement | Points |
|---|---|
| Victory Royale (1st Place) | 65 points |
| Top 25 Placement | 2 points |
| Each Elimination | 1 point |
Example Score Calculation
Match Result: 5th place with 8 eliminations
- + Top 25 placement: +2 points
- + 8 eliminations: +8 points
- = Total: 10 points for that match
Play all 10 matches with consistent top 25 finishes and ~5 eliminations per game to easily reach 200+ points.

Pro Tips & Strategies
🎯 Prioritize Survival
Top 25 placement gives you 2 points every match. Focus on surviving until at least 25 teams remain before engaging in fights. Land in quieter areas and rotate safely.
⚔️ Pick Smart Fights
Each elimination is worth 1 point. Only engage when you have advantage (better position, shields, weapons). Avoid 50/50 fights that could end your match early.
🎮 Play All 10 Matches
You have 3 hours to complete 10 matches. Even if some games go poorly, keep playing. Consistency across all matches is key to reaching 200-300 points total.
🗣️ Communicate with Partner
Use voice chat with your Duos partner. Coordinate rotations, share loot, and support each other in fights. Good teamwork dramatically increases your chances.
📍 Learn the Meta
Before tournament day, play regular matches to understand current weapon meta, best landing spots, and rotation paths. Practice makes perfect.
⏰ Manage Your Time
With 3 hours for 10 matches, you have roughly 18 minutes per game including queue time. Don't waste time - jump in quickly after each match ends.
Estimated Score Needed
200-300 points for guaranteed rewards
Based on historical Fortnite cup tournaments, scoring between 200-300 total points should guarantee you receive the free rewards. This means averaging 20-30 points per match across all 10 games.
